Daily Fishing Report Steelhead Alley 4/2

Wow—an incredible amount of rain has continued to fall across Steelhead Alley, and unfortunately there is still more to come through the end of the week.

At this point, every single tributary remains fully blown out and mostly completely unfishable. Water levels are still elevated across the entire Alley, and visibility remains extremely poor in nearly all systems.

There are a few of the smaller creeks that look like they may begin shaping up soon, especially the skinny tributaries that typically clear first after prolonged rain. However, with more rain on the way over the next several days, those opportunities may be short-lived or disappear altogether before they fully materialize.

One positive to all of this rain is that it has remained cold, which should help keep fish holding in the systems longer. Instead of rapidly pushing into spawning mode and dropping back out, these colder high-water conditions may keep fresh fish hanging around and spread throughout the tributaries once things finally begin to clear.

For now, patience remains the best approach. Keep a close eye on the smaller creeks, watch the radar, and be ready to move quickly if a short clearing window opens before the next round of rain moves through.
