Daily Fishing Report Steelhead Alley 3/25

We’re sitting in low and clear conditions right now, but honestly, the Grand is in really nice shape. It dropped into that good zone over the last couple days where it’s fishable but still has enough water to hold fish well.

If you’re heading out, I’d definitely lean toward the Grand. The size of it helps a lot when things get clear compared to the smaller streams that are getting pretty skinny and tough.

We’ve got a decent amount of rain coming over the next couple days. That should help things as long as it doesn’t completely blow the river out. Ideally it bumps the flow, adds a little color, and brings in some fresh fish. If that happens, fishing could get really good right after it settles back down.

You should also start seeing more dropbacks showing up. There are still fish around, but as time goes on, more of them will be post-spawn and moving back downriver. Those fish can still bite really well, especially if you put something in front of them.

As far as what to throw, nothing crazy:

  • Spawn
  • Egg patterns
  • Beads

All of that is still working and should keep producing.

Jigs under a float are always a good call too, especially in slower water. And don’t be afraid to throw streamers—those can move fish, especially the more aggressive ones.

With the water being clear, just keep things a little more subtle. Good drifts, lighter setups, and staying back off the fish will help.

Overall, it’s a solid window right now, and it could get even better with the rain if everything lines up right.
