Daily Fishing Report Steelhead Alley 3/21
Conditions across Steelhead Alley are low and clear today, making things pretty technical just about everywhere.
Most of the rivers have dropped off, so fish are getting a good look at everything. Because of that, it’s a better call to stick with bigger systems like the Grand (when it becomes fishable) where there’s more water and a little more room to work with.
Warmer temps are helping a bit. That bump should start getting fish moving again and sliding into spawning areas instead of just sitting.
With how clear things are, keep it small and natural. Lighter line, subtle presentations, and good drifts are going to matter more than anything.
Average Air Temp: ~52–68°F
Average Water Temp: ~36–42°F
Spawn, beads, and small jigs will all work—just don’t overdo it.
If this warm trend holds, fish should keep getting more active over the next few days. Pray for some rain!
